Explore our range of electric scissor lifts, built to raise people, tools and materials safely to height across warehouses, factories, retail units and maintenance sites. The range starts with the Greenpower 8M at an 8 metre working height, moves up through the 10M and 12M, and tops out with the 14M at a 14 metre working height, so there is a machine to match everything from routine indoor maintenance through to higher level access work.
Each model is self propelled and fully electric, so it runs cleanly and quietly with no fumes, ideal for indoor use on smooth, level floors during working hours. Compact dimensions, non marking tyres and a tight turning circle make them easy to position in busy spaces, and built in safety systems help keep the platform stable throughout the lift.
Find the right scissor lift for your business today and experience Greenpower’s commitment to quality, value and aftersales support.
Frequently Asked Questions – Scissor Lifts
-
What is a scissor lift?
A scissor lift is a type of mobile elevating work platform, or MEWP. It raises a flat platform straight up on a folding, crossed brace mechanism that opens like a pair of scissors, giving a stable working area for people, tools and materials at height. They are widely used for maintenance, installation, stock handling and any job that needs safe, repeatable access above ground level.
-
Do I need a licence to operate a scissor lift in the UK?
There is no specific driving licence for a scissor lift in the UK, but operators must be properly trained and competent. Under the Work at Height Regulations and PUWER, anyone using one needs adequate instruction and training before they operate it. The widely recognised route is accredited training such as an IPAF course, which covers the theory and a practical assessment for powered access. We are happy to point you toward suitable training providers.
-
What is the difference between a slab and a rough terrain scissor lift?
Slab scissor lifts are designed for firm, level surfaces and are the standard choice for indoor work such as warehousing, retail and building maintenance. Rough terrain scissor lifts have a stronger drive and chassis for uneven or soft ground, which makes them suited to construction and outdoor sites. Tell us where the lift will be used and we will recommend the right type.
-
What height of scissor lift do I need?
Choose the machine by the working height you need to reach, not just the platform height, since working height includes a person’s reach above the platform. As a rough guide, match the lift to the highest task you carry out regularly and allow a little margin for safety. Tell us the heights you work at and the kind of site, and we will recommend a suitable model.
-
How are your scissor lifts powered, and what maintenance do they need?
Our scissor lifts are electric, so they run cleanly and quietly with no fumes, which suits indoor use during working hours. Keep the battery charged as we advise, store the machine somewhere dry, and carry out routine checks of the platform, controls and safety devices. Scissor lifts also need a regular thorough examination under LOLER as lifting equipment, and our aftersales team can help with servicing, inspections and parts whenever you need them.
